Single Channel, is a two-day screening series dedicated to outstanding video works by international emerging and underrepresented artists. The program focuses on video (or digitally transferred film) works that require an uninterrupted and undisturbed viewing and listening experience to come to full fruition. This decision was taken in direct response to the higher integration of shorter form and installation-based videos into our existing exhibition program. Single Channel acknowledges the exceptionality of long form video, as well as the objective difficulty of correctly presenting it in conventional gallery settings.
Single Channel premiered at Anthology Film Archives, New York:
Program #1 screened on June 21 (doors: 7pm, screening: 7:30pm) including works by: Jake Davidson, Jesse Huff, Adelita Husni-Bey, Andrew Keating, Irgin Sena, Slinko, Daniel Spangler, Roman Stetina.
Program #2 screened on June 22 (doors: 7pm, screening: 7:30pm) including works by: Itziar Barrio, Janaye Brown, Exonemo, Faith Holland, Jennifer Lauren Smith, Tzu Huan Lin, Jeremy Olson, Will Rahilly.
Single Channel is curated by Marco Antonini in collaboration with NURTUREart curatorial alumni/ae Jocelyn Edens, Rational Formal, Chris Romero, Rotem Rozental and Rachel Steinberg.
This program was generously supported by a National Endowment for the Arts grant.
