On Monday, March 9, 2015 NURTUREart Gallery hosted a curatorial workshop to offer feedback and professional guidance to emerging curators interested in submitting a proposal to our current Open Call for Curatorial Proposals. A panel of experienced curators offered their advice on how to fine-tune and (whenever possible) improve the proposal’s clarity and presentation.
A great idea is only the first step towards a great exhibition. Presentation and clarity of all required texts, documents and images are also very important factors. The purpose of this workshop was to give you the unique opportunity to confront your creative and professional process with those of other experienced professionals, helping you to better understand the strengths and weaknesses of your application.
** Please note that this workshop is only for those who intend to submit a proposal to NURTUREart’s Call for Curators.
Attendance to this workshop was not required to submit a curatorial proposal to our open call, for which the deadline is March 25, 2015; however, we strongly suggested that you attend this event if possible. Participants in the workshop should have come prepared with a working or close to completed version of their proposal along with images of the artworks they intend to include. Each workshop attendant had two private meetings with the curators on the panel. Exact times for each meeting were given after March 2, 2015.
If you are interested in attending this workshop, please RSVP on or before March 2 to firstname.lastname@example.org
