NURTUREart is very pleased to introduce:
Development Director, Karley Klopfenstein
Karley Klopfenstein (b.1974 in California) is a sculptor from (most recently) Key West, Florida where she was the Director of Sculpture Key West, an outdoor annual sculpture exhibition, from 2002-2009. As the only staff person of Sculpture Key West, she grew the program from a handful of local artists to an internationally recognized art event–attracting major funding, critical press coverage and internationally renowned artists to the program. For her artistic achievement in sculptural work she was awarded the South Florida Cultural Consortium Award in 2009 and used the opportunity to relocate to New York. Since then, she has been a freelance grant writer, contributing writer and associate at artcritical.com and a dedicated studio artist. She received two BA’s from St. Mary’s College of Maryland in Art and Anthropology/Sociology. During the fall 2010 semester, she was the artist in residence at St. Mary’s College. She did her graduate studies in Sculpture at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. She is represented in Miami by Charest-Weinberg Gallery and will have her first solo show there in 2012.
Gallery Director, Marco Antonini
Marco Antonini has been working as an independent curator and writer in NYC for seven years. Some of his key projects have been produced by Japan Society, the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council (LMCC), ISE Foundation, Elizabeth Foundation, The Italian Cultural Center in New York, Bevilacqua La Masa Foundation and the International Studio and Curatorial Program (ISCP). His articles, essays and interviews have appeared on Flash Art, Cura, Whitehot Magazine, ArtPulse, BMM, Drome, Contemporary, AroundPhotography, NYArts Magazine as well as on numerous catalogs and exhibition-related publications. He teaches Art History at New Jersey City University and occasionally works as Gallery Educator at the Solomon Guggenheim Museum, MoMA and MoMA PS1.

Molly O’Brien’s involvement at NURTUREart began in September 2009 with a yearlong internship with Eliot Lable on Education Outreach Programs. She has a BA in Art History from Providence College. Her research on public sculpture has been published in the Providence Art Journal.
Assistant Gallery Director, Rachel Steinberg
Rachel Steinberg is a practicing visual artist living and working in Brooklyn. She graduated from Pratt institute in 2008 with a Bachelors in Fine Arts. Since then she has worked for different international artists, focusing on research and installation, as well as being involved in local projects connected with the Buckminster Fuller Institute, Circus Amok, and other individuals. Rachel began volunteering for NURTUREart in early 2010, and is interested in working closely with emerging artists and curators in order to help facilitate their projects.
